Yesterday... well, technically two days ago now - I went to pick my grandmother up from her nursing home to be with her on my birthday. She woo'd me into coming, and introduced me as "Her best looking, and most successful grandson". There was prune cobbler. Enough said. We drove all the way to Nova Scotia from Quebec to see my ancestors gravesites.
We came across a great uncle of mine's grave. His daughter was burried close to him. She pointed at her grave and said,
"This is his daughter. She was never.. a good person"
I asked, "Why is that?"
She said "Well, she was a whore."
She said it very matter-of-factly. When she turned around, my mouth dropped open and I think I had to pick it up off the ground.
Peoples views and reasons for hate always amuse me.
Peace,
Love,
and ACCEPTANCE to you all!

Reading your blog reminded me of this...
ReplyDeleteThe heart is like a flower-unless it is open it cannot release its fragrance into the world. The fragrance of the heart is made up of the qualities and virtues of our spirit. Most of us have learned how to keep out heart closed in a world that would trample all over us if we let it. Being open hearted today seems to require tremendous courage. It is a courage which comes only when we realize that no one can hurt us, no matter what they say or do. They may hurt our body, but if we have realized we are spirit, nothing outside can touch us, if we so decide. Little by little, we all should practice opening our heart to those we think have hurt us. Realize it wasn't them that hurt us, but it was ourself. It has taught us not to trust and we closed our heart completely. A closed heart is in need of opening. When we do only then will we have begun to heal ourself.
People do spend to much time hating they miss out on the opportunity to experience love.
Peace to you.
